On the Buses!

Stockport Volleyball Club (‘the S’PORT’) has received much acclaim and publicity since our branded buses courtesy of Belle Vue Coaches had a face lift and now appear emblazoned by the adverts showing our sport in the North West.  The routes that you might spot the vehicle on are Stockport and/or Manchester-centric.  Moss Side Volleyball Club stated: “wow. volleyball marketing on a bus in the UK“.  IBB Polonia liked the initiative.  Volleyball England Foundation stated: “Great to see innovative ways to promote Volleyball. Stockport Volleyball Club in partnership with Kappa are now on the side of a bus being driven around the city.”

M&M

We are delighted to welcome Marcin Mols to the S’PORT for its 2020-21 volleyball season. The intuitive engagement and intervention of Coach Rafal, facilitated this transfer in conjunction with Chairman, Adrian.

Marcin is a coup to be recruited to the Stockport ambitious Squad. He is pictured here, photo courtesy of KS Metro Warsaw.

In demand from several clubs, we are honoured that he will represent and become an Ambassador for the S’PORT.  Marcin is finalising his Studies at Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Białystok. Volleyball has been his life since starting playing at age 12 years’ old. Men’s Club Captain, Adam Mitchell who has witnessed his playing videos has said: “No way. Happy days. Very very very good player” about our securing our first new signing.

Career history, starting with most recent: KS Metro Warszawa, UKS Centrum Augustów, SKS Hajnówka and Mlekpol MOSiR Grajewo. Position Outside Hitter.

The S’PORT is going up!

The S’PORT is PROMOTED 🎉🎉 to Division 1 in National Volleyball League.

Two consecutive promotions since our Men’s formation.

Didn’t need the Play Off Final in the end, as Volleyball England confirmed:

“Southampton Volleyball Club have withdrawn their team from the Super League for next season. As we now require both of the teams in the Super League vs Division 1 playoff to take a place in the Super League, this opens up an additional spot in Division 1. As a result we intend to keep/promote all three teams from the Division 1 vs Division 2 playoffs, as we had originally needed two from three to be promoted.”

Academicals

This is the next stage in our development of juniors. Stockport Volleyball Club is delighted to announce it will run and resource an Academy for 2020. Training to commence Q4 2019. This decision relects the good crop of young people who we want to assist and for them to reach their full potential and develop within the sport. We welcome any new boys u16s for next Year, initially to join: Rio, Arian, Matt, Billy, Kaya, Will and Oli.

This cohort will seek to join the National Cup u16s next Season.  All the competitions form part of the Junior Competition Pathway.

In addition the Club will fund all these participants to attend the training of North of England Volleyball under the auspices of our NVL player, David Roberts (a former Volleyball England, Juniors Coach).

Exciting times ahead investing in our youngsters.
